Thrilling Kick-Off to the Tournament: Blaze Hawks, Hilal, Dark Horses, and Supa Strikers Light Up Matchday One
By Sports & Culture Committee | Published on 9/22/2025
The opening day of the tournament delivered intensity, drama, and plenty of goals as fans witnessed two action-packed fixtures that set the tone for what promises to be an electrifying competition.
Match 1: Blaze Hawks vs Hilal
The tournament opener saw Blaze Hawks face off against Hilal in a fiery encounter. The Hawks showed determination, with Tombe and Magnus combining beautifully, each netting a goal and assisting the other in their team’s tally of two. However, Hilal quickly took control of the game, applying relentless pressure that forced errors from the Hawks.
The turning point came when Magnus received a red card for repeated careless tackles under the pressure of Hilal’s attack. From there, Hilal capitalized on the numerical advantage, ruthlessly slotting in six goals to seal a dominant 6–2 victory. With the win, Hilal claimed the first 3 points of the tournament and took an early lead in Group A.
Match 2: Dark Horses vs Supa Strikers
The second clash of the day had its own share of drama even before kick-off, with lighting challenges delaying the start and Supa Strikers beginning a man short. Despite that, the game was full of energy, and both teams fought hard.
Dark Horses’ fortunes turned when Joshua suffered an injury, reducing them to five players against six. Yet, the Horses kept pushing and even won a penalty, only for Agut to miss. That moment seemed to spark life into Supa Strikers, who responded with a flurry of goals.
Although Shiva pulled two back for Dark Horses, the Strikers proved too strong, storming to a 5–2 win. Alongside the goals, the match also saw discipline issues as Dark Horses picked up two cards, one for Joshua and another surprisingly for their coach, Mr. Berven. The victory earned Supa Strikers 3 points and placed them at the top of Group B.
